This month, while their cohorts in the U.S. gather in Warrensburg, Mo., for the 15th National Congress on School Transportation, the Canadian Pupil Transportation Conference kicks off its national conference and trade show in Ottawa, Ontario.

The conference, held May 16-19, features workshops on driver training, child safety, illegal passers, operational service, distracted driving, and school bus crash testing and seat belt research as well as a trade show.

Keynote speakers are sports broadcaster Brian Williams of CTV/TSN, a mainstay during the network’s coverage of the recent 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, as well as Rex Murphy of the “Point of View” segments on The National and a columnist for the National Post.
