NAPT announced four new online course offerings as part of its Professional Development Series.

The courses are PDS202 - "Presentation Skills;" PDS204 - "Team Communication Strategies;" PDS 205 - "Managing the Media;" and PDS 606 - "Risk Management and Emergency Planning." The cost is $40 each for NAPT members and $100 each for non-members. All courses meet the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) standards for Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

The costs includes a course completion certificate. Potential trainees may sign up online.

NAPT said more online courses will become available soon. In January, the association rolled out the online training that covers managing human resources. PDS 402, "Managing Human Resources: Employee Relations," offers a practical overview of human resource management for pupil transportation managers and supervisors, focusing on employee evaluation, training, and discipline. This course also covers the "how to" of developing accurate job descriptions.

The NAPT online courses are provided by School Training Solutions, which is expected to roll out new courses in the NAPT Professional Development Series every month this year. When completed, NAPT said there will eventually be nearly 40 different classes to choose from.
