Members of the National Association for Pupil Transportation will vote on three seats on the association's board of directors during the annual NAPT Summit Trade Show next month. The three positions up for election are for director of Region 1 in the northeast part of the country, currently held by Peter Mannella, the executive director of the New York Association for Pupil Transportation, who confirmed last week he received a nomination to run for re-election. Meanwhile, David Anderson is running for re-election as director of Region 5 out west against Frank Marasco, the transportation and occupational health and safety manager for the Board of Education of School District No. 83 in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Keith Henry is running unopposed for re-election as NAPT's director-at-large. The board election will take place Nov. 3 in Portland, Ore., on the NAPT Summit Trade Show floor from 10 a.m. until noon. All positions have a three-year term that begins in November and ends on the same date in 2013. All nominees must be an active individual member of NAPT for at least two years and must be nominated by a minimum of two active individual members of the association whose address is in that particular region. At-large directors are selected by a vote of all active members. Regional directors are selected by a vote of only those active members whose mailing address is within that specific region. The deadline to obtain absentee ballots was Oct. 8. |
