The first run of Blue Bird's newest green solution, the Propane-Powered Micro Bird Type A school bus, has received certification and is preparing to hit the streets.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Obama signed the extension of the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act that will appropriate $100 million a year in federal funds for eligible projects over the next five years.

Houston Independent School District received a boost to its fleet in the form of more than $2 million towards the purchase of 25 new Blue Bird Propane Powered Vision Type C school buses.

The Kansas City Public School District purchased 47 new Thomas Built HDX rear engine buses powered by CNG by using $4 million in grant funds from the U.S. Department of Energy.

The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously approved a five-year extension of DERA, the nation's grant program to clean up diesel emissions, prior to entering its Christmas break. The bill was sent to President Obama's desk for signing into law.
